About "The Film is Lost"
A Short Film by Anastasia Norenko
A bitter film archivist obsessed with lost cinema discovers a legendary 1908 film while an enigmatic documentary student chooses him as her unlikely subject, forcing both to confront what truly deserves to be preserved.

Inspiration Behind the Film
The Film Is Lost marks a turning point for Norenko, who shifts from traditional storytelling to a more experimental, emotionally driven style. Using mixed visual formats, long wide shots, and intentional ambiguity, she invites viewers to experience the story through instinct and emotion. Filmed entirely in spaces central to her life and including the voices and artifacts of loved ones, the project becomes a meditation on memory.
