Anastasia Norenko

Anastasia Norenko is an award-winning international filmmaker, best known for her directorial work on On the Third Step (2022), a short film recognized at numerous national and international festivals including the LA Women in Filmfest, Central Florida Film Festival, and Moscow Shorts; and Confession (2023), a short film that earned official selections at the Milan Filmfest International, the Silicon Beach Film Festival in Los Angeles, and was longlisted for the Russian National Cinema Award Golden Eagle.
Known for her uniquely moody and edgy cinematic style, Norenko has written, directed, and produced short and feature films, reaching audiences in the United States and around the world. Her career highlights include her EP debut for Iron Sky: The Coming Race (2019), available on Netflix, Apple TV, Prime Video, and YouTube TV, which is a sequel to the 2012 award-winning film Iron Sky; and Scratch Scratch (2021), Norenko’s directorial debut in the horror genre.

Her most recent film, The Film is Lost (2025), is an experimental short about a bitter film archivist obsessed with lost cinema who discovers a legendary 1908 film, while an enigmatic documentary student chooses him as her unlikely subject, forcing both to confront what truly deserves to be preserved.

Anastasia holds a degree in film studies from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, where she gained a comprehensive understanding of world cinema. She also completed Higher Directors Courses at the Russian VGIK Cinematographic University, where she received practical training grounded in Russia’s longstanding cinematic tradition. Raised between Moscow, Russia, and Limassol, Cyprus, Norenko incorporates her diverse international experiences into her creative endeavors, which include filmmaking, poetry, and photography.
