Inspiration Behind the Film
“I wanted to show the characters from a more human perspective,” says Norenko, who was inspired by Quentin Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs, and Guy Ritchie's Snatch to create On the Third Step. “Although they are obviously criminals, it doesn't mean that you cannot sympathize with them, especially after you get to know them a little better and learn about their personalities and motives".
Norenko took a non-linear approach to the structure of her film, making it fast and dynamic for viewers to follow.
